without the apostle
the apocalypse would not be in the bible
it is that simple
someone somewhere sometime believed the apostle wrote it
someone like jerome and we will consider him when we consider his contemporary chrysostom
 – here we consider the apostle who was dealing with followers of the baptist that did not accept Jesus
 – this is mentioned at the beginning of acts 19
 – if it was a problem for paul, it must have been something john the apostle had to deal with
 – why not convert the jewish apocalypse of the baptist into a christian one by adding the churches, Jesus, and antipas?
 – if the christians could accept the writings of the baptist, his followers should be able to accept Jesus
 – more on this later, we now need to introduce chrysostom
